Maintenance

  1. The Elastic Strap: The strap can be rinsed in fresh water or washed with a mild soap.  Never scrub, chest strap does wear out and may need to be replaced.
  2. Transmitter: Never scrub the rubber electrode surfaces.  Carefully dry the transmitter immediately after each workout or rinsing.  To extend its life, avoid bending the electrodes.
  3. Watch: If the display contrast changes and figures become faint, it is time to replace the watch battery.  Consider changing the watch and transmitter batteries at the same time.
  4. Storage: Do not expose your heart rate watch to extreme cold or hot temperatures.  For example, do not leave your heart monitor in a car indirect sunlight or near a radiator.
  5. Batteries and Battery Replacement:
Transmitter: Unscrew the battery cover located on the back of the transmitter with a screwdriver or similar object.  Remove the old battery.  Place the new battery, model CR2032, into the compartment with the (+) side facing up.  Replace the cover and tighten screws.
Watch: Unscrew the four screws on the stainless steel back cover.  Look closely at the battery housing and remove the two small screws located at the 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock positions.  Gently remove the battery and replace it with a new battery the (+) side facing up.  Return and tighten the two battery housing screws.  Secure the watch back panel with the four outside screws.  Be careful not to over tighten and strip the casing.
